Chinese Students at DCU
NEW - ANNOUNCED JANUARY 2026
HDU-DCU International College of Electronic & Information Engineering.
DCU has launched the ICEIE, a transformative partnership with Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU). The College offers jointly-developed undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in cutting-edge fields — and marks a historic milestone: DCU’s first undergraduate degree programmes delivered wholly in China.
The partnership was first initiated in 2003 and was formally launched by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD as part of his trade mission to China.

ESTABLISHED PARTNER
Wuhan University (WHU).
Wuhan University is one of China’s leading universities and DCU’s longest-standing partner — a relationship dating back to 2005, when joint programmes first brought WHU students to DCU’s School of Electronic Engineering.
In October 2023, the Faculty of Engineering and Computing at DCU and WHU signed an Execution Agreement for a Joint Masters in Electronic and Computer Engineering, building on the Implementation Agreement signed in 2022 and deepening a decades-long partnership with strong potential for expanded research collaboration.
Founded in 1893, Wuhan University has produced more than 300,000 graduates, with over 100 members of the Chinese Academy of Science and the Chinese Academy of Engineering among its alumni.
